I’d been living alone for about 3 years, my family moved out of province and I had decided to stay because I was just too attached to this place. I have friends, lots of them, but I don’t like their taste, blind dates never ended well. All the girls I know considered me more of a “friend” which basically means, we could never work out. Ouch! Ah well, I figured, heck, there must be 10,000 other women within 20km of me, why cant one of them be the one for me? But how does one go about finding them? Free date sites!

Bang, that was it, a free date site would be perfect, I could join some free date sites and find local singles that way! It was perfect!

Update: Well, only two weeks have passed, and I’ve already got my first date, I met her on the free date sites and we hit it off right away, we both have similar interests and are both really looking forward to meeting, its strange thou, we lived only 10 blocks from each other but have never met… its wonderful how these free date sites can really introduce you to people you would not otherwise have met.

So I get home from this totally catastrophic date the other night with this girl I met while free dating, and it seemed like the forces of nature were conspiring against me, doing everything they could to prevent me from ever seeing this girl again.

            I don’t know if its just me, but I tend to have extremely bad luck when free dating. We met while free dating about 3 weeks prior to the actual physical date, and had been messaging each other frequently. We finally decided we’d take it to the next level and go do something fun. Big mistake. I should have known that with my clumsiness and accident prone nature that I shouldn’t have stepped within 50 meters of her.

            Ill take you through some of the events that went down with this girl I met while free dating.

I picked her up around seven at her place, she wasn’t ready…but really, who didn’t see that coming?

We made small talk until she was ready, mostly about how neither of us had really tried free dating before, so this was a new experience for both of us. As we left her place, I looked down and happened to notice I had a shirt wiener… now for anyone who doesn’t know what that is, its when the bottom ends of your shirt are pulled through your open fly giving the impression that your wiener is made of fabric. What a great way to start my night with this girl I met free dating. We both had a laugh, got into my truck and went to this awesome pizzeria not far from her place. What better way to ease into our first non online date.

We order our food and sure enough, as soon as I pay, I drop my pizza, toppings side down, onto the floor. Yay! We snickered a bit more, ate our food and decided to go get a few drinks to end this non online date night. We pull into a nice little local pub, order some wine and a few beers, and everything seems to be going great.  Until it happened, I swear, the waitress had it out for me. As she brought us the appy’s we ordered, she “accidentally” dumped them onto my lap… I jump, bumping the table, spilling the wine on my date, and making a large embarrassing scene. I paid, we left, and our non- free dating experience was over.

On the plus side… we both were still laughing at the end of the night. I think we’ll stick with free dating at least until we are ready for another non-online dating night of hilarity.

I joined many a free single network in my time, actually in the past year I’ve probably joined 3 or 4 but I still haven’t been able to find any results, sure I’ve met a few interesting girls, but none that I’d want to spend the rest of my life with, maybe I’m just not meant to find love via free single network…

Well, that’s what I thought till recently, I decided to give free single network one last shot,  I joined a free single network with the intentions that this would be my last shot. If I couldn’t find someone I was madly in love with by the end of this run, then I would find alternative means to finding the love I sought so badly. 

Well, here I am, 3 weeks after joining this free single network, there’s been an interesting turn of events actually, I seemed to have found one woman, a very special, beautiful woman who I have come to admire and respect quite a bit. Her name is Becky, she’s a year younger than e, but 5 years older than me maturity wise, we found each other on this free single network and have been chatting up storms almost every night, we’ve exchanged numbers but prefer to talk on the free single network because its just more fun.

Becky and I are considering an actual physical date, of course we are working out the details on the free single network, which actually had some helpful suggestions on places to go. We were thinking maybe something fun like an amusement park or a night of pool and bowling; something I don’t get to do too often.

Becky is really special, she means a lot to me, and I know it sounds really odd to say that considering I’ve only known her for 3 weeks, but, maybe I’ve found one that I should hold on to? Maybe shes the one I could start a relationship with that would last more than 2 months. I may not have found the true love that I was originally searching for, but who knows where the future will take us. And to think, if I didn’t decide to stick with free single networks… dang.
